↩ Back

To get the process started, you first apply for residence at the CCRC and write your first check.

Application

You complete an application form The application allows the CCRC to ensure you meet its residence requirements, are in good health, and have the financial means to pay for all the required fees over the rest of your life.

Application fee

All CCRCs require an application fee. The fee may range from $100 for a standard fee to a $1,000 or more when you are permitted to use the CCRC amenities during your wait for a residence. If you are not accepted for residence the fee may be refunded minus processing costs. If you are accepted for residence, the fee will be deducted from the deposit fee required when you accept a residence.

You can apply for admission to as many CCRCs as you want.

Priority List (Waiting List)

Once accepted, unless you are moving immediately, your name will be added to a waiting list. Entering your name on this list does not guarantee admission and you have the right to cancel the application at any time.

At the time your name is placed on the list, you may request a specific residence type, location, and time frame for admission. If the CCRC has more than one waiting list, you can add your name to them; however, a fee will be required for each list.

You will be notified when a residence that meets your requirements becomes available. At that time, you may choose to take the available unit or remain on the list for another opening. Depending on the CCRC rules, you may retain your position on the waiting list after rejected an offer of a unit, or you may be moved to the end of the list.

If you decide not to move into the CCRC, you may notify the CCRC and your name will be removed from the waiting list, and, depending on the CCRC rules, the application fee may be forfeited, refunded, or will be refunded minus a processing fee.

Benefits of being on the waiting list
